Happy Halloween!

These are our costumes for this Halloween. Yhostin was "Jackie Moon," Will Ferrell's character on Semi-Pro. This is one of Kiana's 800 costumes (freaking spoiled girl). She was a cute geisha here. (She had a total of 4 different looks: geisha, butterfly fairy, the witch from the earlier post, and a dead karate girl. The butterfly fairy and karate girl are on my phone and I am too lazy to get the cord to connect it.) I am not pictured either, because I was the one taking the pics, but I was the witch from Sleeping Beauty. By the way, painting someone's face white is really hard. It cakes, make lines, and just doesn't look good. I guess I will have to work on it for next year.

She has a pose for everything. I should start recording her accents that go with all her outfits. She does really well at her accents, she is a girl of the world.

Taylor was Buzz Lightyear. Mary and her mom made his costume. I think she did an awesome job.

Taylor loved his costume and got into character really well. Here he is going to "infinity and beyond" (or just flying from the coffee table to the couch).

We had a Halloween bucket of goodies for him when he came trick or treating to our house, but we beat him and went to his house.

He was so into the book from his bucket that I could not get him to look up. Oh wait a minute, I can never get him to look up. I have to take 40 pics to get 1 good pic. I guess that is the life of a toddler?

Such cute cousins. Kiana was trying to get him to look at the camera. Good luck!

Kyleigh was a Barbie Thumbelina.

Scary Faces!!

There was our Halloween: short, sweet, and not overly exciting. Hope everybody had a great, fun, safe, and spooky Halloween!!

Halloween Fun

We had an eventful weekend. We kept ourselves really busy. It started off with dinner at the Melting Pot on Friday. That place is fun, and yes, expensive. But a fun place to go once or twice a year.

Saturday was the zoo with Kyleigh, Kiana, Danyell and me. There are alot of babies at the zoo right now. Here is the cute elephant. There was a baby giraffe and baby tigers, but we did not get a good pic of those.
The first stop was the train.

They have cute elephant souvenirs.

Ride the Rhino Kiana!!

These statues are great for photo opportunites. Everybody waits to take their pic there.

Here's another.

After the zoo, we headed to Gardner Village. What a mess. There was way too many people there. This was my first time there and it was kind of painful. First of all you had to park like two blocks away. Then there were so many people that you could not even walk around and worse off could not walk into the stores. It was so crowded. First, the kids got to ride on the ponies!!

Ride 'em cowboy.

The witches are pretty awesome. They are so creative and fun.

We let the kids get their faces painted.

Kiana face is suppose to be a witches face so she could dress up later.

Kyleigh's is a butterfly.

Then we let them get their hair sprayed.

Spray it on!!!

We bought a witches hat. Everyone who was dressed up as witches here had really cute stockings on so we bought some purple ones to match Kiana's get up. Gardner Village ended up being fun, expensive, and exhausting. Even though it ended up ok I was glad to leave.

And here is the full ensemble!! The stockings are so cute! We thought it turned out good for being last minute. Kiana has such good poses.

Aaawww!! There is the sweet girl that we love. Such a fun smile.

So the kids are all dressed up because our last stop of the night was to ride the Heber Creeper through the "Haunted Canyon." It was really cold outside but ended up being so fun. They have creepy stories playing during the ride and haunt the trail with spooky scenes and scary people running through the train. It was a good trip because we had the whole crew: me, Yhostin, Kiana, my mom, my dad, Chris, Mary, Taylor, Danyell, Kyleigh, Ervin-Yho's dad, Tiffany-Ervin's girl, Yasmin and Jeremy. Pictured is Jeremy as Darth Vader, Kiana as the witch, Yasmin as a vampire girl (I think).

Taylor was his cute self. He seemed to enjoy the ride. He really liked playing with the flashlight.

Keeping an eye out for those creepy people.

Where are those spirits?

Taylor was surprised by our visitors in our car. He only got scared once.

We kept trying to scare the kids by screaming. They did look a little worried every once in awhile. After the train ride we stopped in Lindon and ate at Los Hermanos. We were really hungry but it doubled as Ervin's birthday dinner (1 day early). We had been gone all day. I was pooped. I didn't even want to eat.

So on Sunday, to finish it all up, we carved pumpkins. Mine is the boo and Kiana's is the trick or treat. We didn't carve it all the way through, we were trying to be all Martha Stewart-ish. The middle pumpkin we used these cookie cutter type things and hammered it through to cut out the shapes.

So our Martha Stewart project did not work. We need to thin the pumpkins out more because you cannot see the light come through. I will try to thin them later and see if it works.

And finally, here is the dogs costume. London sporting the bee look.

Britian now wearing it. It is funny because the head part is a little tight so when I pull it over their head they won't move there head.

Finally Done!

Wow I am old, wanting to make quilts!!??!! But, I saw this cute fabric at Walmart and knew it would be a cute blanket. It wasn't to hard, but it was very time consuming (considering I did the whole thing by hand). I sewed the pieces of fabric together by hand and the binding, and tied it off without quilting frames. I got the pieces of fabric sewed together, and all tied in 1 day. The stupid binding around the edges took forever though. It took me 7 nights to get it sewed. The first side I started took me about 6 hours to sew. I am happy with the end result because it did turn out way cute!

I wasn't sure how I was going to bind it since I don't have a sewing machine. Then I saw this cute ribbon and decided it would work out great, and it did!!!

Pickin' Pumpkins

The whole clan headed to Centerfield this weekend. It was nice to spend the whole weekend at my parents and have everyone there. It was also great because we got to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out our own pumpkins.

My mom bought Kiana and Taylor some cute Halloween shirts so we could get pics of them. Taylor had to fuel up on some oreos before we went.

"Hurry and pull me out to some big pumpkins Grandma!"

He had fun riding in the wagon, but then he had to try to pull it himself. He approved of the pumpkin that his mom picked for him.

Taylor did not feel well and did not cooperate very well for pics so Kiana got a solo photo. It turned out to be a really cute photo. Taylor's shirt had white long sleeves and was really cute. But apparently he does not like long sleeve shirts. When we first put it on we thought we had snuck it by him, but a minute later he started pulling at his sleeves and flinging his arms around to get the sleeves off. It was pretty funny! My mom ended up cutting his sleeves off so he would wear the shirt. Looks like it will be a cold winter for him if we have to cut the sleeves off his coat!

Filling up the wagon.

I am not sure that we got enough???

Taylor had fun playing on the Beck's swingset when we were all done picking pumpkins.

He loves to be outside playing. When we left, we just had to take him kicking and screaming.

He did really well climbing their rock wall.

The featured picture taking wagon. Mary's brothers, William and James, were there with us.

We had to get a pic by the cool painted hay bail.

After, the kids got to go through their hay bail maze.

Taylor found the tunnel that was a short cut out. It was a fun weekend to just be with the fam.

On a different note, we had to show off Kiana's heels. They are so stinking cute, point, and high. I thought she would for sure break her ankle, but she actually did well walking in them. She still doesn't have it completely down, but with time. Mary, Kiana and I all have the same pair of shoes. They were just so cute that we could not pass them up.
